Installatiion of mObridge iPod & Bluetooth unit to BMW E60

The customer had a new 3g iPhone and wanted to use the iPhone handsfree via the BMW infotainment system(CID display) & control via I-Drive & steering wheel controls. The customer also wanted to use an iPod & charge the new 3g iPhone via BMW's I-Drive control. Our solution? Requirements

To use the iPhone handsfree via the BMW infotainment system(CID display) & control via I-Drive & steering wheel controls. Also use iPod & charge the new 3g iPhone via BMW's I-Drive control.

 

Installation

To install the mObridge iPod and Bluetooth unit for BMW we have to remove the original CD Changer from the glove box. We  then run the external mic to the area by the internal light hiding the wire behind the roof edge and trims. The mObridge unit is then connected to the car's fibre optics ring.

If your BMW needs coding (to tell the car it has a phone or iPod fitted) you will need to go to a BMW garage or use a local specialist like Cartronics, Byfleet, Surrey. Sometimes a full BMW software upgrade is advisable to make the content easier to access.

The customer  now has a full iPod & Bluetooth system fitted that is fully upgradable for future phones via Bluetooth!
